Life Is Like A Box of Chocolate

Famous quote from the movie Forrest Gump, but what does it really mean. "Life is like a box of chocolate, you never know what you're gonna get." It implies that life is variety, ever changing surprises. But does this not also imply that regardless of the kind of "chocolate" that you get, it will be good. Because everyone knows that chocolate is good.
As many can attest, the surprises that life has in store are not always good...or at least at first. Change is often unwanted, disrupting, and unsettling.
Hind site is 20/20, another famous cliche, but also very true. Looking back on all the changes and surprises, everything eventually worked out for the better. So, I guess Forrest was right.
